Driver sought in Denver hit-and-run

The victim suffered serious injuries.

Denver police are looking for the driver in a hit-and-run accident that left one man seriously injured.

Officers say the man was struck at around 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the 3900 block of N. Pecos St.

The vehicle is described as a black 2015 Hyundai Sonata with license plate JTQ-612. It has damage to the right passenger side and is missing its passenger side mirror.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation has put out a Medina Alert in hopes of getting information that could lead to the driver. According to the CBI website, Medina Alerts are named after 21-year-old Jose Medina, who was killed by a hit-and-run driver in 2011. A taxi driver witnessed the incident, followed the driver, and gave the license plate number to police. That led to the arrest of a suspect who ended up being sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Anyone with information about the driver is asked to call (720) 913-2000.
