BRIGHTON — A counselor at the Adams County Youth Services Center in Brighton is facing charges for alleged sexual contact with a juvenile inmate.
Michelle Theresa Sarillo, 29 is accused of sexual assault on a child for incidents at the juvenile detention center that took place for nearly a year-and-a-half, according to a release from the 17th Judicial District Attorney's Office.
The alleged sexual assaults occurred between September 26, 2015 and February 15, 2017, the release said. The victim had just turned 16 when the alleged assaults started.
Sarillo is charged with one count of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust and one count of sexual assault on a child by a person in position of trust as a pattern of abuse.
Her bond has been set at $20,000. A preliminary hearing is set for July 24 at 1:30 p.m.
