Aurora police seek vehicle in overnight hit-and-run

A pedestrian crossing the street in the early morning hours of Sunday was hit by a car that didn't stop - Aurora police are asking for the public's help to find that car.

The Aurora Police Department is asking for the public's help to locate a suspected hit-and-run driver who hit a pedestrian crossing the street early Sunday morning.

Around 3:35 a.m., a pedestrian crossing East Colfax Avenue west of Peoria Street was hit by a vehicle headed west, the Police Department said. The vehicle did not stop.

The unidentified victim was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, authorities said.

The vehicle that hit the pedestrian was likely a black Toyota Rav 4 or similar type SUV/crossover, according to Aurora PD. It may also have significant front-end damage including having the driver's airbag deployed.

The images in this release are of the suspect vehicle, police said.
