WESTMINSTER, Colo. — An investigation is underway after about 200 fish were found dead in the pond at Westminster City Park, a spokesperson for the city's park department said.
The city was notified about the fish Thursday morning.
The pond is stocked each year with four different species of fish that include grass carp, channel catfish, bluegill and largemouth bass. Fish management staff estimate that about 10 percent of the pond's population has died.
Staff have been working Thursday to clean up the pond and are investigating what caused the die-off.
