Infant rattles sold at Walmart, Kmart, Amazon recalled

VTech is recalling 280,000 Shake & Sing Elephant rattles.

Infant rattles are being recalled because of 53,302 reports of parts breaking off, posing a choking hazard to small children.

The recall involves the "Shake & Sing Elephant Rattle" made by VTech.

Although no injuries have been reported, VTech says there have been 53,302 reports of the ears breaking off of the rattle, which could cause a choking hazard to babies.

The baby rattle was sold at Walmart, Kmart, Amazon.com, Mills Fleet Farm, Seventh Avenue and Zulily.com from November 2015 and November 2017 for about $8.

The elephant rattle has the model number 80-184800 and has a purple elephant with yellow and blue ears. The number 1848 is printed on the back of the rattle.

Consumers should stop using the rattle and contact VTechKids.com for a replacement. You can learn more about this recall at CPSC.gov.
