Corey Rose hosting pregnancy loss support session this weekend

Corey Rose has helped organize a community conversation about infant and pregnancy loss. It's scheduled to take place Saturday, Oct. 6 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Cereal Box in Arvada.

In early September, 9NEWS morning anchor Corey Rose shared that she and her husband Josh are expecting a baby in February. Earlier this week, she announced that they're having a boy.

With that announcement last month, she also shared that she experienced two miscarriages. Since then, Corey has received an outpouring of support. People reached out to her to share their own stories, to get help or to help others, Corey said.

One of the people that reached out to her was the owner of The Cereal Box in Arvada, which was featured on the 9NEWS morning show earlier this year. She told Corey that she too had experienced several miscarriages.

They're now working with an organization called At The Table to host a community conversation at the Cereal Box this Saturday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Anyone is welcome to stop by to talk, listen or get resources. The restaurant is located at 5709 Olde Wadsworth Blvd in Arvada.

There will be a family therapist, a naturalpathic doctor, a counseling group and other resources. Representatives from the non-profit, Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep will also be there. Through the organization professional-level photographers volunteer their time to conduct an intimate portrait session, capturing the only moments parents spend with their babies.

Anyone affected by pregnancy loss, including men and children, are welcome to attend.

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. President Ronald Reagan made the proclamation in 1988. Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day is Oct. 15.
