DENVER — With the warmer weather comes a fun series of events on the Denver International Airport (DIA) open-air plaza, between the Jeppesen Terminal and the Westin Hotel.

The plaza will transform into a 7,000-square-foot turf park that will give travelers and community members a different kind of airport experience.

The park, which will be there from May 24 to Sept. 2, includes gardens featuring native Colorado trees and plants and lounge seating, according to DIA.

Events will be hosted weekly and include Wellness Wednesdays and Fly Away Fridays. Wednesdays, from 11:30-12:30 p.m., classes ranging from yoga to Krav Maga will be available for passengers.

On Fridays, travelers can enjoy educational, cultural and family-friendly activities and performances during the lunch hour.

Passengers visiting DIA and community members alike are encouraged to stop by and enjoy free park activities.

The plaza is located pre-security, is open to the public and is accessible just steps from the University of Colorado A Line station at DIA, or a short walk from the airport parking garages ($4/hour in garage parking, $5/short term parking).

Beginning June 14 and lasting for a month, the plaza will transform into an 18-hole mini golf course. It is free to play and will be open from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. daily.
